JR GIRLS BASTKETBALL
Coaches:
Mrs Bumstead
Ms M Telfor
"With seven new additions to the nine-player line-up, the junior girls’ basketball team knew from the start that it would be a year for growth and that the two returning players, Maranda and Tyneisha would be looked to for leadership and the two grade 10s did not disappoint with their hard work in practices and games and their growth mindset approach to a challenging season. Brooke, Elizabeth and Karley were leaned on early in the season for big minutes in games. All three showed a great amount of grit on the hardcourt, drawing charges, grabbing boards and getting their share of breakaway lay-ups. Rookies, Chloe, Helen, Naima and Nurjan caught on quickly learning a lot about the game and the team’s systems. By the end of the season, the girls showed tremendous improvement and their positive attitudes and coachability never wavered. Coaches Bumstead and Telfer were proud of the sportsmanship and athleticism demonstrated by each player. They look forward to returning players; Brooke, Karley, Naima and Nurjan and wish best of luck to Chloe, Elizabeth, Maranda and Tyneisha in senior girls basketball next year!
